In New Zealand, an important vote in parliament is about to take place when Emily and Alexander arrive. The women are fighting for the right to vote in elections. However, many parliamentarians are of the opinion that women belong in the kitchen, and so a draw in parliament is looming. Our two mice, together with their cousin Amanda and the girl Kim, decide to go to the rainforest to ask the Maori chief living there for his vote for the women. However, dangers lurk everywhere and time is running out.
