Between 1880 and 1960, hundreds of Luxembourgers went to settle in the Belgian Congo, some for a while, others for good.
This documentary uses testimonies of people who lived in the Belgian Congo and tells the story of their departure, their living conditions and their return with archive images. The testimonies, although very valuable, do not always show historical reflexivity or personal hindsight despite the time that has passed and should therefore be taken with great caution. The modern commentary sheds light on these testimonies but does not directly challenge them.
